Korea's League of Legends national team is at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, aiming for back-to-back gold after winning at the 2022 edition in Hangzhou. The esports events run September 23 to October 2 at Aichi Sky Expo, with the LoL final scheduled for October 2.
The roster
KeSPA announced the six-player roster in May after a selection process involving trials and a Performance Improvement Committee review:
- Zeus (Choi Woo-je) — Hanwha Life Esports, top lane. Second Asian Games appearance.
- Canyon (Kim Geon-bu) — Gen.G, jungle. First Asian Games appearance.
- Faker (Lee Sang-hyeok) — T1, mid lane. Third consecutive Asian Games. Won silver in 2018, gold in 2022.
- Gumayusi (Lee Min-hyeong) — Hanwha Life Esports, ADC. First Asian Games appearance.
- Keria (Ryu Min-seok) — T1, support. Second Asian Games appearance.
- Zeka (Kim Geon-woo) — Hanwha Life Esports, flex pick.
Three players from HLE — the team that finished first in the 2026 LCK regular season — plus Faker, Canyon, and Keria. Four members of the legendary ZOFGK T1 roster that won back-to-back Worlds titles in 2023 and 2024 are on this team, with only Oner missing.
Notable absences: Chovy withdrew from selection while receiving treatment for a chronic hip problem. Oner did not appeal the roster decision.
Who Korea is up against
China is not participating in the 2026 Asian Games esports events. That removes the only team that consistently challenges Korea at the regional level. The realistic competition for gold comes from Chinese Taipei, which has historically been Korea's closest rival in the format, and Vietnam, which has developed rapidly and could be a dark horse for the podium.
With China absent, Korea is the clear favorite to defend the gold medal.
The LoL schedule
KeSPA confirmed that Korea's official matches begin September 30, with the final on October 2. The group stage and earlier rounds run from September 23 before Korea enters in the later stages given their seeding as defending champions.
