On August 15, Chzzk ran the TFT CHZZK Influencer Match, bringing together League of Legends professional players and streamers active on the platform for a Teamfight Tactics showdown. It was part of Chzzk's expanding original content strategy, moving beyond just broadcasting existing tournaments to creating its own competitive events with familiar faces.
What the event was
The TFT CHZZK Influencer Match put pro players and popular Chzzk streamers in the same lobby to compete directly. TFT already has a large dedicated following in Korea — it's one of the most-watched categories on both Chzzk and SOOP — and mixing professional LCK players with streamers the audience already follows creates a format that performs well both as live content and as VOD clips afterward.
This is the same model Chzzk used with the CSI Expedition in June, where 110 streamers and fans traveled to Wonju to watch 2026 Road to MSI matches together. Community-driven events built around existing esports content are becoming a core part of Chzzk's content calendar, not occasional one-offs.
Why Chzzk is doing this
Broadcast rights get viewers to the platform. Original events keep them there. Chzzk's five-year LCK deal guarantees they have competitive content through 2030, but the spaces between official matches need to be filled too. Influencer matches, co-watching events, and creator partnerships fill that gap with content that feels personal and community-specific rather than just a broadcast feed.
For TFT specifically, this format works well because the game is accessible to both pros and casual players. A professional Teamfight Tactics player isn't automatically dominant against a streamer with thousands of hours in the game, which makes the outcomes genuinely unpredictable and entertaining to watch.
